Hi,
My name is Jeffrey Miller. I’d like to take a minute of your time to introduce myself and my practice. I have completed an ACGME fellowship in Interventional Pain Management from Tufts College of Medicine in Boston. Originally trained as an anesthesiologist, I began to recognize that chronic pain affects patients in more ways than one, with depression being at the forefront. On my return to Oklahoma, I partnered with Dr. Rachel Dalthorp to form a multidisciplinary practice. Those who suffer from long-term pain often experience emotional and psychological aspects, particularly depression and anxiety. While my focus is to treat chronic pain, Dr. Dalthorp’s focus is rehabilitation of the mind and mood. Our goal is to treat the whole person through this multidisciplinary approach.
My treatment philosophy incorporates procedural approaches for all aspects of chronic pain, including back, neck, and joint disease. Additionally, I treat headache pain, peripheral nerve damage from injury or neuropathy (chemotherapy-induced or diabetic), and fibromyalgia. Many times there is not an identifiable source of pain, and I rely on medical management with anticonvulsants, antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or opioids when necessary. My procedural training has allowed me to become proficient in many noninvasive surgical treatments used for failed back surgery syndrome, spinal stenosis, vertebral compression fractures, degenerative disc disease, and facet arthropathy. Furthermore, in Boston, I was affiliated with the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and helped establish pain treatment protocols for those patients with severe cancer pain that included utilizing continuous intrathecal drug delivery (pain pumps). Even still, beyond cancer pain syndromes, I am a tremendous advocate for the use of opioid therapy in the correct patient setting. Given the right framework and following current guidelines, a patient can be effectively treated with opioid medications with the overall goal of returning baseline functionality and giving those patients the ability to enjoy life again.
Our main clinic site is in Moore and is called Mind Mood Pain: Interventional Pain and Psychiatry. I would be honored and appreciative of the opportunity to help your patients in any aspect of pain management that you deem appropriate. I have contracts with most insurance carriers, and I am credentialed in the Norman Health Network. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call our clinic or email me personally at [email protected]. I look forward to developing a working relationship with you.
Thank you for your time,
Dr. Jeffrey Miller
